Dharani 7-year-old girl known case of Steroid dependent nephrotic syndrome.
In the mid of July 2020, the Dharani suffered from fever. The parents took her to a nearby hospital, but there was no improvement in the child’s condition. Her fever would come on and off over the next month, and her parents took her to multiple hospitals - but returned with disappointment. On a fateful day, the baby suffered from repeated seizures. They immediately rushed her to St John Hospital, Bangalore, where the doctor identified that the baby is suffering from a Steroid dependent nephrotic syndrome. It was disheartening to see a seven-year-old baby suffering from such a deadly disease.
Dharani is on steroid medication. She is been treated with multiple medications like cyclosporin, tacrolimus, etc. As a future course of treatment. She requires 2 doses of Rituximab Injection and MMF for 2 years.
The approximate cost of 2 doses of Rituximab will be Rs. 50,000/- and MMF on monthly basis will be Rs. 5000/-
This family hails from Ananthpur, Andhra Pradesh. Child father working as an attendee in Sri Sathya Sai general hospital and earns Rs. 8,500/- per month and her mother is a homemaker and she has two elder siblings. Who is pursuing their education?
