Meet 13-year-old Madhumitha, a bright and academically good student, who is studying in the 10th standard. For the last 1 year, she has not been unable to go to school due to a serious illness.
Madhumitha had been diagnosed with IGA Nephrology with Proteinuria, and receiving treatment under the Department of Pediatric Nephrology at St. John Hospital, with immune suppressants. Since December 2019, her family has been spending approximately Rs 5,000/- to 10,000/- per month towards medicine and investigation.
Madumitha belongs to lower socio-economy status – her father left the home and went away few years ago, mother working as a maid servant and brother as a painter - are the breadwinners of the family. They live in a rented house in Bommanahalli Bangalore.
